Innovative and application-oriented learning in our tailor-made training courses

Are you interested in an innovative and realistic project management training? This quarter, processCentric conducted several customized trainings for its customers.

The training course is structured as follows: The trainer explains the procedure and the special features of the methodology and interactively involves the participants in a fictitious project, making it an immersive experience. Each participant is given a role in the project and the project is played through from initiation to completion. Documents such as a study, project management plan, phase reports and much more are used, which we have prepared in advance and tailored to the needs of the customer. In this way, we ensure that our customers get the greatest possible benefit from the training and encourage the exchange between the participants with their own practical experiences.

Using the processCentric HERMES game - a board game designed by our designer, Naïla van Kommer - coupled with a case study, the trainer gave the participants a concrete insight into the sequential (waterfall) and incremental/iterative (agile) approach.

For the case study, Kirsten Hauck and Valerie Pierre created several video avatars in advance of the training based on the customer's input using an AI video generator tool. Each avatar represents one of the project's stakeholders and explains their perspective and needs.

Highlights:

▶️ Classic management (waterfall): In the classic approach, the team was able to experience with the game how important extensive and thorough planning is and how quickly delays can occur that significantly affect project progress.

▶️ Agile approach: Here, the participants were able to experience the difference to the sequential approach directly. In each of the 6 releases completed, the team had to re-prioritize the requirements, with the various action cards influencing project progress and thus ensuring a realistic project atmosphere.

This playful format enables participants to understand the life cycle of a project in concrete terms.
